This week we revised the values of numbers 4 and 0 and started learning how to write them. These are they rhymes we are using as we write:
The main aim of using these rhymes is to help children who are auditory learners to recall the formation they should follow. I also use them to help the children slow down a bit while they are writing as some rush through to the detriment of the letter formation. I tell these children that they need to write slow enough to allow me the say all the rhyme before they finish writing the number. The children are slowly becoming more confident and are starting to write their page of numbers more quickly and efficiently.
