Your children should have come home on Wednesday, telling you how pleased I was with them. Not only did they perform very well showing the result of their hard work or the past few weeks but they were also very well behaved and co-operative. It really helped us get everything done in a timely and efficient manner. So thank you, children, and well done!
Just a few points regarding the concert:
1. I am sure that you do not need to be reminded but the concert is on Saturday 10th, this weekend!! And it will be held at St Agatha’s in Rabat (see previous post if you need directions).
2. The children need to be there at 2.15pm. Please be there on time.
3. The children need come wearing their costumes with whatever they need to keep warm underneath (as long as it does not show up from under the costume). They also need to wear blue socks and their school shoes. Please do not forget their hats and scarves which I sent home last Wednesday. You can secure the scarves with a half knot over the shoulder so that it does not fall off.
4. You can send a small snack for your child to eat and some water. Please do not send anything messy.
I hope that you will enjoy the show!
As some parents have been asking where St Agatha’s is in view of the concert on Saturday, I am attaching a map. It is marked as St. Paul’s Missionary College. For those not familiar with the area, I find that the easiest way to get there is by going up Triq Santa Rita and turning right into Triq Emanuele Vitale. There should be a big tree in the corner between the two roads.
If any of you pass through Naxxar to get to Rabat, please note that a Christmas Village event is being held on Saturday. Normally when the event is held, parts of the roads leading to and from the church are closed.
I have sent the red hats home for the girls wearing pyjama is the concert. The girl snowmen already have their hats at home. In order for the hats to fit properly on their heads, I would suggest one of the following hairstyles:
The dress rehearsal for the concert is next Wednesday 7th December. Please bring the children to school and collect them from school at the usual times. We will be taking the children to St Agatha’s in Rabat in a coach. The coaches will be leaving the school soon after 8am so please ensure that you bring the children to school punctually.
The children are to come to school wearing their costume, blue socks and school shoes. They may have a t shirt or vest and tights under their costume as long as whatever they wear does not show up over the neckline or anywhere else. They may wear their school jackets if it is cold. The snowmen have their hat and scarf which they need to wear together with their costumes. I have the scarves and hats of the boys wearing pyjamas and will take them to St Agatha’s myself. I also have the scarves of the girls wearing pyjamas. I have sent their hats home (pls see the post that follows this) so they will need to come to school wearing it for the dress rehearsal.
The children need to bring their big bag to school with their uniform inside. We will be leaving these bags at school and we will help the children change into their uniforms if we get back to school early enough. Please make sure that each and every uniform item and each and every costume item is labelled.
The children also need to bring their lunch in a small separate bag which they will take with them to St Agatha’s. Please avoid sending in things such as yoghurts that can be easily spilt as we will not have access to tables and chairs whilst eating.
Children not taking part in the concert can still attend school on that day and enjoy a day out with the rest of the class.
I have entered home the costumes of the children for which I have received payment. I have sent the pyjamas got the boys and girls but not the scarfs and hat as I still have to make the scarves and hats. I am getting started on them this evening and hopefully you should have them all by Monday.
Please double check that the costumes fit the children well before removing any labels. I did not try them on all the children at school but I tried them on the shortest and tallest of each group. They should all fit but if you have any problems, please let me know.
Also, parents are asking what type of slippers I would like the children to wear. I was considering bedroom slippers (papocc) as long as they fit well enough for the children to dance and jump when wearing them without the children falling or the slippers flying off. I await your feedback to see whether this is feasible or whether I should find an alternative.
I apologise but I have managed to create confusion over the forms and costume expenses for the school concert. I had received the form that I had attached to the previous post and had not noticed that it was only for the upper juniors. When some of you pointed out that there was juniors 3-6 on the top, I thought that I had erroneously posted the one that I had received for my daughter by mistake. So sorry for the confusion caused.
I should have returned all the money and forms that you sent in. If you sent in the payment and did not get it back, please let me know. I
What you need to do now is send back the form I sent out today. No money is required so far. I have a good idea of what costumes will be required but will need to work out the details once I know the final number of children participating especially for items I will be getting online as that effects the postage costs. If you had filled in the measurements for your child and still have the paper, you can send it back in as that will help me select the correct size. If not, if you write down the height of your child on the form, it would help me greatly.
If anything is not clear, please do not hesitate to ask.
The Christmas concert this year will be held on the 10th December. I still do not have the exact times but the lower junior concert normally takes place in the early afternoon – some time between 2.30 and 5.30pm. I am currently in the process of putting our item together and it would be of great help to me if you could let me know if your child will not be participating in the concert as knowing the exact number of children participating will help me when grouping the children and looking for costumes.
You should shortly be receiving an official letter asking you to confirm or not your child’s participation but if you know that your child will not be able to be there, I would appreciate it if you would notify immediately.
Thanks once again 🙂
